Imagine USPS sharing my photos
[Update: Nevermind - they do it seems :)]
I received a lot of greetings and cards this year, with photos, and I have to be honest - I couldn't get cards out. I did appreciate them a lot and there was a nice surprise element to getting something in the mail and seeing a printed photo.
I would love to get a card designed online, maybe even with a handwriting software and then have it uploaded to usps.com with a form for all addresses (that can be imported from Outlook or other standard databases for contacts). USPS will print and mail it to the recipient for me. That would create a more personal touch for me and the USPS could get a significant chunk of the online photo printing business over time.
If you take that further, this could be applicable for all photo printing and mailing of pictures (with option of putting comments with each for story telling) to friends and family with custom albums etc. There is something special about viewing print photos than those online.
I guess anyone of the photo-sharing companies could do this but then the USPS probably has the best infrastructure and resources to do it with a low cost. Maybe not.......or maybe they already do that
